The Website events listing is updated continuously and is provided by the Albuquerque Fiber Arts Council (AFAC) as part of its mission of educational outreach and its commitment to the expansion of all fiber arts in New Mexico and beyond.
Please send your announcements about gallery shows, classes, lectures, special guild events and call-to-entry opportunities to firstname.lastname@example.org. Be sure to include the date of the event, the event's title, who is presenting the event, the cost, a contact person or contact info, the event location and time as well as any other pertinent information.
Information is compiled from notices sent to AFAC and from community announcements. The Albuquerque Fiber Arts Council does not endorse or recommend any events; we merely provide the listing as a service to fiber artists.

Class & Workshop Opportunities
The Española Valley Fiber Arts Center is the place to go for your local material needs. They also offer classes year round in a large variety of Fiber Arts that will fit anyone's wallet! All class minimums are now set at only two students! We want our students to feel confident about registering for classes. As long as you and a friend sign up, it will run. Las Cruces Museum of Art Studio Programs offer classes for both adults and young artists including ceramics, sculpture drawing & painting, digital photography, weaving, and painting with oils. Getaways at Ghost Ranch. The Albuquerque, NM retreat center is offering many classes and events of interest, including one on quilting, basket making and weaving. There is a good discount for registering early. The site also offers suggestions for travel and accommodations - and tours of the area's scenic and artistic sites. Tres Manos Weaving of New Mexico, Inc. The mission of Tres Manos is to help low income women of southern Dona Ana County increase their family income through learning the art of weaving and using their artisan skills to create and sell beautiful hand-woven scarves, shawls, jackets, and home accessories. The Yarn Store at Nob Hill, in association with the Tractor Bar at Nob Hill, is sponsoring two special craft meetings each month. On the second Saturday of each month, from 3-5 pm, there is a Begin Again: help getting back to or starting off with any hand craft. On the third Thursday of each month, from 6-8 pm, there is a Community Craft Night: bring your knitting, crochet, embroidery, etc. and join in with others. Navajo Rug Auctions. Hundreds of Navajo rugs are auctioned off, usually on the second Friday of each month, but not always! Auctions are held at the Crownpoint Elementary School, Crownpoint, NM. For more info, (505)786-7386 or www.crownpointrugauction.com. This website offers interesting Navajo rug history along with auction dates. Rug viewing begins at 4 pm and ends at 6 pm. The actual auctions start at 7 pm and go on until 10 pm. All rugs are one hundred percent handmade (no machine made rugs allowed).

TDLT Fiber Artisans have a quantity of alpaca fleece to use in our projects and to sell as supplies. We are looking for someone who can clean, pick, and card it for us. The Gallery ABQ offers exhibition space to guest artists in our full service gallery. We are fully staffed and open six days a week. The Flagstaff Arts Council is seeking concepts for art exhibitions in the Jewel Gallery of the Coconino Center for the Arts. Albuquerque Fiber Arts Council Education Committee is seeking entries for the Earth, Wind & Fiber Spring Show, April 7 & 8, 2018. Entries will be accepted January 1 through February 25, 2018. The application will be available January 1 at abqfiberartscouncil.org.
